Himsagar is formed by joining two words i.e. Him and Sagar. “Him” refers to the snow covered mountains of Jammu & Kashmir and Sagar refers to 3 seas i.e. the Bay of Bengal, the Arabian Sea and Indian Ocean. All these three seas meet at the coast of Kanyakumari.
The chief stations at which this train halts during the journey include the stations of Ernakulum, Bhopal, New Delhi, Jalandhar etc. This train is quite comfortable for all those people who do not want to spend much money on traveling by air. The cost of the tickets for this train starts from Rs.645 for Class 3 A and goes up to Rs.2857 for Class 1A. It is an amazing experience to travel in this train.
