Lavasa City Planned Indian Hill City

Lavasa Corporation Limited is a Private held company which is behind the development of India’s First Hill City which was originally not possible but after a lot of controversy, the Maharastra Government passed the approval under ‘Hill Station Policy’ which is setup under 25,000 acres area, something which would range into 100km square area.

The project is quite large and is located between India’s two Major Cities ie Mumbai & Pune which are both in Maharastra. The correct location can be listed near the banks of Baji Pasalkar Reservoir behind the Varasgaon Dam which is at 80minutes from Pune and 3 Hours distance from Mumbai. There have been 5 Major roadways connected to this new project from these connecting cities. The whole project is planned into 4 different phases in the order of completion with the Phase 1 located in Davse to be operational from 2010 which has a target of 500 apartments and 1000 villa’s. The other 3 Phases are set to be completed in the following years 2014, 2017 & 2021 based on the completion levels.

This is something which is originally followed after the First Planned City – Chandigarh which is a Union Territory, serving as a Capital of two states Punjab & Haryana from the year 1966. The planned modern city was made to go through two phases, first of which hard to handle a population of 1,50,000 people and the second phase which had to handle 5,00,000 people. Based on the Swiss-French architect, designer plans the whole city was divided into different sectors which were connected with roads and different networks. Each of these sectors were of 800m x 1200m sizes and hard their own markets, neighborhood, worship places, schools etc giving the whole city a completely planned setup so that in the future there wont be any issues.

The Lavasa Hill City is a advanced planned city with main focus on the following :
• Research centres
• Hospitality and tourism
• Education
• Resident population
• Health care

The city is going to have the best of the best hotels, hospital facility, better connectivity to other locations, golf clubs, business schools, etc and the whole project is expected to cost around 20,000 Crore Rupees which is a real big amount of money in developing countries like India.
